A PERGOLA, arbor or arbour is a garden feature forming a shaded walkway, passageway or sitting area of vertical posts or pillars that usually support cross-beams and a sturdy open lattice, often upon which woody vines are trained. As a type of gazebo, it may also be an extension of a building, or serve as protection for an open terrace or a link between pavilions.
The pursuit of money has never beckoned, but had I made pots of the stuff, I would have splashed out on a peculiar bathroom (I'll spare you the details) and one of these. I've had a thing about pergolas most of my life. It's the idea of drowsing beneath one with bees droning around and above me and the scent of honeysuckle and other climbers, etc., etc., (not to be mistaken for a bower).
