It poured with rain yesterday - apparently a month's worth of rain in 24 hours. In the early evening there was a break and I took my camera to try and capture the spectacle of the river that runs by my house, carrying all the water that had been dumped on the mountains, down to the sea. The pictures do it no justice - it was like standing by a railroad track as a train goes by at 90 miles an hour. The sound was trememdous, and huge rocks and boulders were being carried down making deep clunking sounds.

From experience I know these photos don't do the situation justice. My parents lived close to the Brecon Beacons and had their home flooded when the small river alonside their home broke its banks.
