I grew up during the VHS boom. It was a great time. There was a whole world of possibilities in the video store. You could rent a comedy and laugh. You could get lost with an adventure film.. or be scared with a horror one. You would wander the aisles looking for something that caught your eye. We've known that the home video business model was going obsolete for a while. Video stores are closing all around us.
This article from a couple days ago reminded me of this great old sign I had photographed in West Los Angeles. Next time you pass a video store, or a sign for one, stop and appreciate it for a moment, as they will all be gone sooner than you think. Photo taken 12/29/07
