Audubon's first house in America, now a museum.

I liked the reflections in the barn window.

Sadly, I spent all day today in a meeting, so these are from the archives. This house, called Mill Grove, was the first home in America of John James Audubon (he lived there from 1803 - 1806). It's now a museum housing one of the nation's largest collections of Audubon art (no photos allowed inside, unfortunately). It's also an historic property preserving 175 acres of woodlands and meadows along the Perkiomen Creek, and has 9 miles or so of walking trails. Best of all, it's five minutes from where I work!

JanetLippincott 175 acres! Looks like there's a lot of hiking to be done!

dadlak Minor spelling correction, though...it's Audubon--he spent time in Louisiana too, near where I live.

????? Never seen this - I'd like to go there some day. Famous guy for a birder! Nice place to watch, shoot, and paint birds! Not bad spot for a stroll too.
