My New PC (almost!)

Well, everything except the case, keyboard and mouse. As soon as a friend of mine assembles it, I'll hopefully have a PC that won't choke on the 18,360 photos currently in my digital collection, and won't make me spend so much time waiting on it. The new PC will be an interesting experiment - it will be running the 64bit version of Windows XP (the majority of systems run the standard 32bit version - if yours doesn't say otherwise, it's 32bit). I can hardly wait for my new toy!

Yeah, I know, all you MAC users are probably laughing hysterically - MAC operating systems are SO much better at memory management than Windows (among other things)! I KNOW that, but I need to stay with a Windows PC. :(

I do have a Mac - but have all of my photos on an external hard drive.

I hope it is fast and full of memory! Boy, I wish that statement was describing me and not your new computer!?!?! :)
Please let me / us know how it works out. I have been searching for someone who could tell me what the best computer is for digital photos and editing. I never considered the 64 bit. Just went with a 32 bit, 4 GB RAM and the dual core processor.
