ISO 1600.....

2008.07.07

So I had to take some photos of a benefit concert for a charity's newsletter, and the performance was a two man cabaret style act - in the dark! The performers were lit only by a couple of small spotlights. I didn't want to use flash and disturb the audience, besides, flash wouldn't appropriately convey the intimate quality of the performance. The answer? I let the D80's Auto-ISO feature blow the ISO up to 1600 - and here's the best of the results. Think it worked?

meiling It sure worked, Liz! Great intimate ambience and, you're right, the flash may not have been able to capture such an atmosphere. Many thanks for sharing, and best regards.

japarker I think that it looks great (and keeps the atmosphere of the performance at the same time)

DancingDolphin It worked perfectly! Such a great "mood" comes through in all of them. You were absolutely right, a flash would never have come close to looking this good!
