Stone Carvings (Rock of Cashel)

So, did you ever wonder who carved all the stones for all those medieval cathedrals, churchs, abbeys, etc.? There must have been hundreds or even thousands of stonecarvers working on each building. I wonder what all those stonecarvers did for a living once they were no longer needed to carve stone....

finbarr Aweosme shots Liz !! i see in lreland most old churchs have stonecarving in side and out side !! it much take day and weeks to do carving into stone !! i send you greeting from lreland ,

mystic1 Wow very cool captures, I think they probably carved their whole lives, unlike the modern tools we have now the ancient ones took alot longer to use
