Just before Christmas, my dad had to go for a 5 day trip to Gambia, one of the smallest states in Africa. It's also one of the poorest. He said that he will forever be influenced by the contrast of incredible beauty of the scenary and the poverty of the people.
He also said that he often felt guilty and ashamed to be taking photos, or to even walk around with a camera- as if he were mocking their way of life.
Unlike the photos from Bali i posted some time ago, and the photos from South America i attend to post some time soon, here the focus is not on the beauty of the architecture and the buildings - this is as raw as it gets.
Ah, and, just a little side note- my dad hates anything and everything connected with snakes and let along crocodiles, so for him to come close to take a photo of not one, but several was like---well, imagine Indiana Jones adopting a snake for a pet.
And, so sorry for all the grammar/syntax/ spelling mistakes i'm bound to make- i'm just too lazy to write with a spellchecker. This is a photo blog, right??
