I am a writer and botanist interested in life’s journey, history, cultures, plants and futures thinking.

Photography is one of my passions. My approach is to seek the unusual angle and topic, shift its context, and try to reflect its soul and spirit. Most of my photos have been shot in Africa, Europe and Korea.

I like the challenge of only publishing raw images but also very much enjoy the creative efforts of photo-editors. I have begun to use Picasa 3 to do some tweaking edits on some of my photographs.

I used an Exilim 770 and a Nikon D-40 with a 18-135 mm lens for my early blogs but have now shifted to Nikon D60 with a 55-200 mm lens. Early days yet but I think I prefer the more versatile 18-135 mm lens.

I am working on a history of the the number seven, a book of poems and drawings, and a book on African Megaliths ('large stones').

Stunning. I love this painter. Who is the artist?
Hello, Sorry for the delay...I was able to speak to the owner of this painting..from what we can tell, the artist is either
'Boyta- or 'Bouta' .. I believe it is Boyta. The painting was done by the artist in the marketplace in Port of
Prince many years ago when the owner traveled to this area. She said there were many artists painting
many different kinds of artwork in the marketplace. I love this too.

Try this:
1. Choose and observe any object in your environment.
2. Mind-map as many uses for it; known, practical, imaginative, crazy or just absurd.
3. Make connections between the uses.
4. Think up new uses for the combinations.
5. Prepare to go where no one ...
Did I ever reply to this comment? I'm going to try your theory this week. Thank you!
