The Oyster Festival

Mmm, raw oysters have a flavor like no other. It's salty and meaty and earthy all at the same time. I love they way they taste.

So why drive 3 hours south to a tiny island in the middle of the fall? For a festival of course. Every year Chincoteague host an Oyster Festival. The tickets are cheap and it's all you can eat oysters, fried clams, soup, hot dogs, hush puppies, etc. I love raw oysters and I love festivals.

Not my favorite food, but I do miss Eastern Virginia and the Bay for all the other sea-food which I don't I get here. I do like those pictures though!
