All told there were 40 different beers available. Some were the regular beers and some were specialty beers that you won't ever be able to get anywhere else again (like 06.06.06 Ale which was brewed and released on 06/06/06 so unless you stocked up on it, you can't ever taste it again).

The event was setup so that for $30 you got 10 tokens. Each token was good for on 5oz sample or you could use three tokens for some food. The food was okay, but the beers were amazing. The fact that you got so many beers(and that they averaged 11 - 12% ABV) for cheap made this night even better.

Five at a time seemed to be the right amount to get at once. Hopefully Alewife continues to host beer tasting like this one throughout the year.

These photos are a couple of weeks old at this point, but I thought I'd share them anyway. Stone Brewing company - one of my favorite brewers - is currently do a 50 state US tour of their specialty beers and Baltimore was lucky enough to be their first stop. They came to a new bar here called Alewife. The bar itself looked nice (it was in an old bank), but it's in a bad location and I'm not sure if it will last.
