Tasmania - Sheep Shearing Story - Part 3

2007.06.03
Ok, we may be tough but we are camera shy...

Not like us...

...most of the time.

superfine merino - the best sheep wool in the world.

A wool bale is a beautiful thing.

Somewhat the worse after the experience.

Its not fun for the Big Daddies either.

Maxine Nice shots. I hope they're not freezing after having all that wool removed. :)

ShangriLa Actually Maxine, i used to worry about them getting cold too. Once i came upon this sheep that hadn't been shorn for a very long time. There was a story about one found in New Zealand also. The wool just keeps growing and growing and can become extremely heavy. So they really do need to be shorn, but perhaps not quite so roughly. But that's about money, as always.
