Folk Dancer

This 13-year-old girl was a wonderful dancer. She is performing a traditional dance that used to be performed for the Maharajas, hence all the tricky things like beds of nails and swords.

She was accompanied by her family. The music, especially the singing, was brilliant.

If you want to see this performance, go to Niwas Lalgarh Palace at Bikaner. The meal is quite expensive but its a special evening.

The tables are laid with white linen cloths and they are placed around a large grassy green square. In the middle is a fountain. Surrounding the whole thing is the palace. The service isn't bad at all. The food is very exotic. I am not sure I liked it but I ate it with much interest. It was hard to know what exactly I was eating, although it was vegetables. I didn't eat anything like it anywhere else in India.
