Rivers in India are enormous.

These women were making a religious offering. They had made a little box filled with lit candles that they set afloat in the river. They are watching it float away. However, it didn't get very far, unfortunately.

A chai/tea stall. A glass of chai can be as little as 2 rupees (or as much as 20 - 35 rupees was AUD$1 when i was there). A glass of chai can be depressingly tiny, about 100mls in a disposable plastic cup. But usually I would ask for a glass and urge them to fill it up. I didn't mind paying more, I just didn't want to have to order three cups of tea. Chai is made with approximately half milk and half water. They save you the trouble of putting sugar in yourself. Which is not such a wonderful idea unless you love terribly sweet tea. "Cheeni cum" is supposed to mean "only a little bit of sugar" but they never seemed to understand that, so finally i gave up having sugar altogether.
