I wonder..... how you managed to capture the people there? they seems like posing for you... you requested for them to pose? Don't you worry that they might harm you in some way?

Are you kidding? Indians love to pose. They learn it in school if they do school portraits I presume or from other photographers. I would prefer they didn't pose so formally and it's often a rush to shoot them before they move from their natural position but I don't like to shove a camera in people's faces without their consent. Its not so bad if i am far away from them, I figure they may not know that they are being photographed. But sometimes a formal pose works. But I have enough trouble getting them to stay in or out of the picture - as the case may be - to bother giving them too much direction about how to pose. Another funny thing Indians do when I am taking their portraits is to copy each other. They get to see the photo in the screen of the picure and they think they know i like it because I often say "atcha" if the model is changing poses. They all understand the word "atcha". So the next one will adopt the same pose as the last one and it's a trick to get them to be different. Sometimes. Not always.

Some stunning family shots here... I think the beautiful colours of their outfits make the shots even more stunning.
