Unexpected scenes I found when I went to the beach in search of a lighthouse. This was much better than the lighthouse and that I never found.
These guys were so sweet but I confess to being a little bit afraid when I found myself on this lonely beach with a large crowd of men like this. I think it was the hats that gave me courage. How can anyone wearing hats like these do anyone any harm?
It turned out their names were along the lines of "Joseph, husband of Mary" variety.
Oh, dear I wonder if Indians cringe when I say stuff like that but India has this quality. Against all the cruelty and hardship, there is such touching sweetness in India. No doubt, these things will be lost as the country gets richer. Meanwhile the bad tourist food will prevail and proliferate. Sigh.
