Skirts for trees.

Conserve Seagrass. I love this work. Its made by filling a pvc pipe that has holes punctured in it like sheet roll music used to be. The pipe is filled with salt. Then its rolled along the beach or as here on a board so that the worlds sift out.

These are pebbles wrapped with a piece of cloth. I didn't read the accompanying text so I am not sure if its meant to be a mandala or alludes to aboriginal sand art.

Bar code. The pieces were all found on the beach. A lot of Jill's work is made this way.

Screen. My sister wants to use this idea in the steps to the house. Of course we'd create a different pattern.
pixel
Coathangers. I wonder how much people would pay for a coathanger?

This installation is a collection of stuff found on the ground. Skeletons, rusty old things, a beautful stone. The sand might indicate where it all comes from. It looks like Northern Territory dirt but I am not sure because I didn't read the text again.

One of the things in the collection above. (It looks a little pasty by comparison. Maybe I will fix it.)

John stops to consider the galahs on his way out.

There were three exhibitions on the afternoon we went. The ground floor show was for Jill Chisholm who is the artist who lives down the road from me. Her work and that of the others in her show is environmental art. The project was is mainly on location some has been made for the show which complements the originals.

The next floor had a design show.

The top floor must have been a two person show. I didn't take the time to read all the texts as we didn't have much time and I'd seen Jill's show already.

Originally we went here because I wanted to take my sister to the other contemporary art gallery down the road which has a great shop full of really clever and beautiful things, but it was closed.

Quailia I think you need to go back and read the texts ;-)

I really like the screen - I'd love one like that in the garden.
