Fire Celebration

One day, Hushang - The mythic king of Persia - went to the mountain with his servants and attendants. He suddenly saw a dragon on the rock and decided to kill it,so he took a broken stone and threw towards it but the broken stone clashed to the rock instead of dragon ! It sparked and created a big fire for the first time. King Hushang became cheery and blessed God for this finding. He commanded to his servants to gather the brushwood and inflamed those night time . They sat around the fire and celebrated this important event (Discovery of Fire).
This celebration was named as "Saddeh" later on and it's in hundredth day after beginning of winter ( 30 January ).
Although Iranian people don't commemorate such ceremony nowadays , they celebrate another feast at night of the last Tuesday of each year ! They collect firewood and inflame those at middle of squares and alleys after sunset, then everyone jump over the fire and call it by this song : " the yellow color of my face be for you ! ... the red color of you be for my face " - it's a metaphor words to wish the health for themselves. After this act the children and youth go to neighbors' home wearing a veil and request them some nuts and cereals for cooking Iranian porridge - "Sholleh Qalamkâr" - in next day !
This celebration is named as "Châhâr Shanbeh Souri ". It coincide with 16 March this year .
Although it hasn't celebrated according to ancient ceremony in the last few years, protestors to Ahmadinejad government want to change that to a political dispute ! but everyone should know this ceremony is a potlatch for developing the happiness and the joyance between all of the nation !
The fire had been respected by Iranian people from past years but it doesn't mean they are fire worshiper ! They pray God - "Allah" .

atszabo Is this story of King Hushang even more ancient than the Zoroastrian religion in Persia, Masoud?
I read that was the prevalent religion before Islam came to your country in the 7th century or so.
