The Road Less Traveled???

We were on our way to Minnesota..????
The highway thru South Dakota was closed!! My husband pulls out the trusty Road Atlas and says well there is a short cut to get back onto the highway if we take this dirt road?? He says is it only 18 miles of dirt road. We look at each other and say well we drive 12 miles of dirt road everyday to get home so why not? We did fine until we noticed all the traffic was truning left and we had to go straight. The dirt road looked like hard pack so we went a head. It wasn't hard pack just sinking mud and water. We couldn't stop or turn around or we would be stuck for sure!! Finally at the crossroads we could stop and breathe and pry our hands off the handles in the car and off the steering wheel. Sometimes I was going down the road before my husband and I was in the passenger seat!! What a ride!! What a blast it was .. It tooks us days to get our SUV clean..We still laugh when we see these photos. :)

There is nothing better than go by a big car through mushy lanes!! The mud squirts the discs high. And we are shaken by so that every pregnant would be deliver!! HA! That`s fun!! ;-))

What a short cut! You have a cute car. :) Don't tell your husband though, he probably wouldn't like to hear that.

Why would you want to be on one of those fast speedways when you can go dirt road? Great adventure. I especially like the first photo.
