Hmm are the snacks by the tree???

Hey lookie up here socks full of thistle!! Wish I was taller!!

Let's go join the others!!

Better snack fast the rest are coming!! Oh dang the bird bath water is frozen!

Ok hand over the snacks and we won't get mud all over your patio!!

My husband the Deer whisperer!! WOW 9 Deer!!

I am happy to say this isn't a rare occassion. It happens quite often. The deer will come up and see if the birds have dropped enough food on the ground for them. We can get pretty close, but stay at a distance so the deer will still fear us and not depend on us. We like the wild staying wild. If we flinch or take a deep breath the deer jump and panic for a second. Then keep scratching the ground for snacks that were left behind by the birds.

The first day they came you gave them a bottle of Whiskey. And now they`re drug-addicted and come again and again without fear...
And your husband isn`t the Deer whisperer - but the
DEALER°°°°° ! take a look at that shot:
He hides another bottle in front of itself!!!!

;-))

eljapa Nice pics and i agree wildlife should stay wildlife, they had to kill a fox overhere because it was made tame by a group of wildlife photographers just to make a better picture... Its been in all the newspapers here. Too bad......
eljapa · 2008-01-16: 15:30

bettyluvsduncan I'm with Chris...can I come visit too? I'll bring the peanut butter! : ) These are great. I wish we had deer that close. Although sometimes you see them where you "shouldn't" like right downtown next to the freeway. Its sad. Anyway, I'm glad that your deer have many places to roam and they look happy! : )
bettyluvsduncan · 2008-01-20: 00:46
fishbud i doubt there could ever be too many ;) i guess it's still deer season since i cross-pathed with several everyday at dusk when i leave work :)
fishbud · 2008-01-21: 18:03
dweiskir Wow. I can't believe the bucks stayed that close, too. You have such beautiful lawn decorations, but the muddy porch would get old.
