This Flicker was not hurt during landing on the suet cage. It looks worse than it was. The Flicker landed soft and safe on the suet cage.

That is just an incredible last photo, Sheri. I had to move the laptop so that my husband could see (you know, the guy I had to wait for until past 40, and also move hot, humid, not-mountainous D.C. to find -- worth the sacrifice, ultimately). He thought that resembled a dove's head. Your capture of the wings is just a marvel. You manage photo equipment just beautifully. I knew you were just being kind.
