Flying Into Friday.. The BIGGEST and the SMALLEST!!

2008.06.12
Pelican!! Gosh are they HUGE!!!! They are like a 747!!

Dragonfly in flight. I shot this with a fixed 400mm. The closest I could get was 11 feet with a fixed lens! Any closer and the lens wouldn't focus....I thought it turned out OK.. I wish he would have been coming toward me.. My husband says if I were a hunter there would be nothing alive that flies. Glad I use a Canon I am opposed to guns big time!!!

This was fun to do!!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend.. Keep snapping and sharing!!

pattyb Yikes, that is a killer shot of the dragonfly!! Way to go Sheri. The 747 is wonderful too.

astrobrojler Dragonflies are amazing animals. Nice shot, fuzzy wings help to feel the dynamics of it's movement. Pelican looks great, watching live flight of such a huge bird must be fascinating.
ps. I'm glad to inspire you to blog dragonfly here :)

TheCrazyCroat The dragon fly pic is amazing. I actually like seeing him fly away.

What 400mm lens do you use? OMG, that must be a monster!
TheCrazyCroat · 2008-06-13: 11:36
DancingDolphin Sheri, you do incredible things with that camera of yours! The color in the dragon fly is just beautiful!
DancingDolphin · 2008-06-13: 13:31
tomie the shots are great but i like too your comments! it's more funny for me because in french the word gun is canon! a "canon" is a cannon.
tomie · 2008-06-13: 16:31

jim7221 Good point from Hubby!!!...... the wildlife can rest easy!!!

I kinda like the fact you got the 'whirlybird' from behind!!...... its unusal.... and at 400mm, the quality and sharpness is damn good!!
jim7221 · 2008-06-16: 01:08
