It looks a bit asymmetrical. My camera or the vase? I don't know. But I think it's beautiful.

My first view of the inside of the Colosseum. It looks like a model. I think maybe those are painted Q-tips instead of people. (That's an inside ILM / Star Wars joke, for the uninitiated.)

Just outside the Colosseum. I'd abandoned the guide by this point so I really don't know what it is, besides lovely to look at, that is.

Trevi Fountain. 1 coin for a quick return to Rome, 2 for love. Don't throw 3 if you are already committed or you will break up. Alas, I should have thrown 1. Does being in love with a country count? If so, maybe the 2 I threw will work anyway.

Mussolini's balcony, where he used to give his fascist speeches. And yet it looks like such an innocent balcony. http://www.xkcd.com/c282.html

Basilica Dei SS Ambrogio E Carlo (San Carlo al Corso). I can't really say much because I honestly stood there with my mouth open in awe.

More Basilica Dei SS Ambrogio E Carlo (San Carlo al Corso). I felt a bit... crude taking pictures of the place like the crass tourist I was. I left an offering to assuage my guilt. And out of respect.

The arches are bronze not golden, did you notice? I think it's because this Scottish establishment is just around the corner from Dior, Prada, Louis Vitton, Gucci, Versace... They need to appeal to a higher minded clientèle. Ahem. Animated .gif here: http://img509.imageshack.us/my.php?image=shopping5ffsanimatemi9.gif

A picture from the bus, a woman with a laptop. I liked the juxtaposition of ancient (or at least old) and modern. If I was a marketing exec, I'd make a commercial for Apple with this shot. Really, though, it's more Microsoft's style than Apple's. Anyway, I really like the photo, even with the reflections.

A very quick tour of Roma, called "Rome of Ceasars." Colosseum and Arco di Tito; bus tour of various landmarks; walking around the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the fashion district. Fortunately, also stopped in at the Basilica Dei SS Ambrogio E Carlo (San Carlo al Corso). So beautiful!
