Our guide, Steven. In addition to being a history buff and an entertaining orator, he's quite the philosopher. He was our driver for the Pompeii-Vesuvius tour, as well. Funny guy. :)

A newspaper article from 1999 when First Lady Hillary Clinton visited Naples. She stopped at the Corcione factory specifically because of the shop's reputation. According to the article, "Rino's family boasts works being acquired by the Kennedy, Nixon, and Clinton families." It can now boast that works have been acquired by the Weotch family, as well.

I don't remember who this is. I'm sure he's tremendously important, though. (Update as of 2008: It's Dante!)

A fountain that was a gift from the city of Rome a few years ago. Apparently lots of tourists (like me) take pictures of it, ooo-ing and ahh-ing over it, thinking it's some ancient piece of statuary. Not so, according to Steven. It wasn't even here a few years ago.

Mmmm! Pizza Margherita! If only I'd remembered to ask for mozzarella di bufala.

A quick overview of Naples in the afternoon and evening. We got some history, a small politics lesson, a visit to another cameo factory, a quick peek at the castle, and dinner downtown. We would have seen more of the castle and the palace, but there was an MTV street concert going on. Italian hip hop / rap is just as funny as American, lol.
