One of the many stray dogs in Catania. Although I didn't get any shots of them in Pompeii, there were tons of 'em there, too. The majority of them look like lightweight German Shepherds and Lab mixes. This guy was very friendly and respectful.

Through the looking glass... That's actually a very common Saviour pose. I'm generally the one who obsessively plans and figures out the details. Salvu was on a mission this whole trip, however, so I just stood back with Joseph and let him do his thing. I'm afraid I got quite spoiled.

The sassy traveler again. I'd lost one of my earrings between the rifugio and the hostel, so I picked these up for 1 euro at the market in Catania. Sadly, I left them on the train later that night. D'oh! ...Oh, look! Salvu is reflected on one lens and Joseph in the other. Cool!

Yay! Sleeper car! Awesome! ...though I have to wonder what people meant when they told me upgrading to a sleeper car was not that much more expensive than regular 2nd class fare. It was quite pricey. I wonder if it had to do with the fact that he put me in a women-only cabin. Must learn Italian!
