No battle droids, so that's one good thing. No Gungans, either; also good. Where is that pesky queen?

The king's front side.

Fake marble.

Looks real, though, eh?

More fakery.

In context. Btw, the fake marble cost more than the real stuff. All about the status, baby, all about the status!

Ceiling painting. Keep an eye on that mountain -- it shows up again later in the set.

The throne. No, not the flushing kind -- shame on you!

Haunted study.
Ok, not really. But these guys reminded me of the folks who watch you walk down the hallway in the Haunted Mansion. Spooooky!

Nativity EXTREME!
(These folks didn't mess around with their bebe jebuses, I tell you what!)

BUFALA! ...for Jesus cheeses, one presumes. Yeah, they sort of mixed up the timelines and the architecture a bit. All in the names of art and politics.

I love this painting. I can't tell you why, but I LOVE IT!

Reminds me a little of the fishmonger on Stromboli. "PESCE FRESCO! ...PESCE FRESCO!"

The king's back side.

Fountain in the Italian garden, as opposed to the English garden, which wasn't open today. Actually, I think this was the Pine Wood. I don't know if that's really part of the Italian garden or not. Alas, the tour book I got only has a map of the ground and first floors of the palace, not the gardens. Aww... it looks like a little volcano! So cute.

Another fountain in the Pine Wood. :)

As seen from a labyrinth in the gardens. Felt like I was sneaking in. Must go back soon!

Remember the ceiling painting? Check out that mountain, woot! (Seen from the labyrinth.)

I visited the Royal Palace at Caserta today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caserta_Palace

Very beautiful on it's own. Great history lesson. Also a nice walk down memory lane from Episode One. Sent pictures to some movie makin' pals of mine who worked on it. Cool stuff.

Ciao!
