"Have some plum liqueur! No, no, it's very mild, I promise!"

O rly? (Click for video, lol.)

Omg. It's... heaven. You see those cups on the right? Two different types of creme brulee. TWO! OMG! And there's mousse and ice cream and tarts and cake and fruit... HEAVEN, I say!

April was a very busy month. Indeed, I was so overwhelmed by it all that I didn't put up the Bordeaux pics until now (October). I'll see what I can remember from the whirlwind trip to one of France's most esteemed wine regions.

Let me clarify that, though. While the wine was very nice, I really went to visit my friend, Armelle. I got to meet her parents and take in the lovely French countryside. It was everything it was rumored to be and more. So, so pretty. A perfect place for writers, poets, painters, gardeners, wine aficionados, history lovers, and people seeking mysteries. Should I ever decide to retreat from the world and work on creative pursuits for a few months or years in a lovely, tranquil setting, Bordeaux will be high on my list.

There is only one photo taken by me, as I had to work part of the day, then left to go see a physical therapist/osteopath type. The photo of Armelle's dad was taken by her, I think. The shot of me is a screen capture from the video Armelle shot of me, drinking plum liqueur.

I arrived in France during daylight hours, but it was dark not long after arriving at Armelle's parents' house near Duras. After enjoying a fabulous home cooked meal (and the aforementioned plum liqueur), we went out for dessert. I was already stuffed to the gills, but how can you say no to dessert in France? Goodness, I waddled the whole weekend. One incredible meal after another... Viva la gorging!
