In June I went with Aarin to a small restaurant near the hotel I stayed in for 2 nights. There we had the most amazing experience! Our waitress was Maggy, an adorable little faerie who spoke barely one word of English. She noticed that we spoke barely one word of French and decided to take extra special care of us. And boy did she! Wow, I don't think I have ever had that much to drink in one night before! I probably had, oh, like an entire third of a bottle of wine, lol. Which was quite enough on its own, but then she gave us shots of... something delicious. I didn't write it down, so I don't remember. Aarin had much more than me, which was pretty funny, too, as he is also not much of a drinker.

Anyway, the food, the atmosphere, and our adorable server made it a wonderful night. Oh, and I called Armelle in Bordeaux to put her on the phone with Maggy to translate, hahaha! Poor Armelle!

Aarin and I tried to meet up with her again before we left, but it was not to be. Kept her phone number, though, and this time I got to see her again. Turns out that she is not a waitress at all, but a nurse! She was helping out a friend. Wow! How lucky for me that I went to that restaurant on that night!

Oh, and Armelle says that when she realized Aarin and I did not speak French, she did indeed decide to take extra good care of us so that we would have good memories of Paris. Ohh... so sweet. I meet the most amazing people.

Bemused Boomer Good thing you were wearing the infamous lime green gloves; otherwise I might not have been able to distinguish you from your fabulous Parisian friends!
