The picture itself is not that notable. I included it more for nostalgia. The roads nearly everywhere were unpaved and quite bouncy. I also like this because it reminds me of the endless possibility of further safaris. :)

Young, male lion we caught (on camera, of course -- no stealth lions in my luggage, I swear!) as he walked towards a kopje. He seemed to have something in his eye or his nose, as he kept wiping at his face with a paw. He was also calling out occasionally. Not sure if he was in distress or just letting the rest of the family know he was coming home.

This is the only acknowledgement we got of our existence from this guy. Just a fleeting gaze and then he continued on his way. Safari vehicles have become as much a fixture on the savannah as grass and trees, I think.

This set is a all about lions. There are some other beautiful critters, of course, but the lions are the stars. Wow. So much beauty it's hard to take it all in!
I don't think I've ever seen a sitting lion from the back like that. She really was relaxed around safari vehicles! No wonder part of your heart stayed here. What an amazing place! Great pix.
