Although I was brought up a Catholic I am no longer a practising Catholic. However, some things stick with you and I always feel that during Lent I should give something up. Something that will test my willpower, that will be an achievement if I manage it.

So yesterday I decided that this year I would give up Diet Coke for Lent. After clearing the Diet Coke from my fridge ..... this is what was left.

As a former Diet Coke Addict, I can tell you the way I gave it up was to visualize the distorted face of the Ukranian President, Yuschchenko, after the poisoning attempt on his life some years back. I heard they used Diet Coke to administer the poison to him. I just have not been able to drink another drop of the stuff ever since. atszabo · 2009-02-28: 19:12
