Day 122: Off To Stake A Claim
2008.08.30
Today we set off for our new home: Montgomery, Alabama. I don't know why, but one of our favorite things to do on road trips is for me to read to Tony out of the most recent Game Informer. We get a kick out of it.

The Parson's were having an Alabama (football) party, so we went straight there when we arrived in town. I was DEAD tired, but I wanted to see Mer and my Pea. I'm glad we did because we had so much fun. I got to have some beer, meet Jimmy (who grilled us to-die-for hamburgers, and play with Elizabeth Anne.

They made me learn the "Rooolll Tide" cheer, taught me about the extreme Auburn VS Alabama rivalry, which floored me because we don't have an inner-state rivalry like that (especially when they are down the road from each other). Don't worry though, I held onto LSU pride (of course Mer is still an LSU fan too) the whole way through. I wasn't allowed to talk about that much, but the Saints talk was much more tolerated. I dunno why. Maybe because college football is all Alabama has? *snicker* Sorry I may be an Alabamian at the moment but GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!
