Day 319: Riding!! And A Touch Of Spring

Today I got to ride again for the first time in about 3 years. Seeing as how horses and riding is my most favorite thing to do, this was very big for me and made my heart burst with happiness. I was so excited to wear my boots again... and while mom took her turn riding I just sat on the concrete block I used to always sit on and think of all the great memories I have of this place and horses.

Mom just got her new horse "Chico" a couple days ago, and he hadn't been ridden in a long time. So I got on him first to clear out the cobwebs. He is rusty, but did really good. You can tell he's gotten lazy and a bit stubborn, but in the end he did everything I asked him to and he's just a really good horse.

I had to put these up like this I love how they get closer and closer. You have to enlarge them because this one and the next are really beautiful the way mom and Chico are positioned. He's such a beautiful horse!!

He's gaited, so when you get him into his gait, it feels like your on a rocking horse. Too cool.

I love to plant trees for Arbor Day... and this is one of the many I planted in mom and dad's yard over the years. I love it. On this dreary day it was just about the only splash of color.

It's just awesome to see something grow that you've planted, from little bitty stick, into something like this. It is a redbud. (happy mom?) lol
