The raw file of this image was nothing like the result I posted. It was a horribly under exposed, out of focus, flat, lifeless image shot through the windshield of my car a long way from the subject. I had to pound the snot out of it in PP to get anything worth viewing. The "blood" appeared when I started pushing the mid-tone contrast. A happy accident :) Thanks all for your thoughtful comments!
