I love the contrast between the rich purples of the lavender, against the warm yellow of the ripe corn, and the grey sky provides a nice counterpoint!

An interesting sky above a field of lavender.

A slight crop; it had to be done though. Lavender has blue and green, and the Poppy gives us a red element to contrast with them.

A field of ripe corn, I love the way the golden hues contrast with the steely grey of the sky!

My first hare sighting in five years or so! Sorry it's not so great, I only had the 24-105 with me, which means that this is a 100% crop, so the resolution has suffered accordingly. Still, it's a nice record shot :)

A change of venue for today's lavender fields, this time it's Hitchin Lavender; rather surprisingly it's near Hitchin ;)
Having visited I'm wondering whether someone there has a photographic eye; the ripe fields of corn contrast beautifully with the purple of the lavender. Hopefully you can see some of that beauty in my shots!
The lavender fields are a joy to the senses; but if bees make you nervous, you'd be advised to watch from a distance. The sound in the field is of fevered buzzing, as thousands of bees gorge themselves on the flowers.
Oddly I saw a number of bumble bees sitting on the ground between the rows of lavender, not sure whether they were overwhelmed by it all, or what was happening.
