Camo fail

Another one of those days when I haven't ventured far from the doorway, I found this Swallow-tailed Moth (Ourapteryx sambucaria) actually on the front door. As you can see he's done a bang up job with the camoflage ;)

The other shot is taken from the front doorstep in one of my favourite lighting conditions, late/early sun, with leaden storm clouds. The sky really was a magnificent steely colour. We had some lightning with that storm, but nothing major. Lots of rain though, sufficient that it actually stripped the compost completely out from some of the plant pots; and it overwhelmed the gutters too!
