The switching on of the Christmas lights at work were a big deal, which suited me! We had hot chocolate, (non-alcoholic) punch, mince pies, a children's choir sang some carols, and a speech from the DG - all the while I ducked and dived to avoid the roaming cameras!
The Christmas lights in Dublin were also switched on, although I think Catherine has a better picture than me!
