F-L-O-W-E-R-S! YES! FLOWERS!

2008.04.28

candy tuft

Dogwood

As many of you know the thing I shoot the most is sports. While I love it and it's a adrenaline blast, I'm slowly falling in love with shooting macros. Specifically flowers. I've grown a lot as a photographer taking my time and setting up single shots. What a way to stop and smell the FLOWERS! On the field I'm shooting at 10 fps much of the time and macro is making me slow down.... I'm getting a appreciation for the beauty I normally pass by.

etodd80 I really like #7, the dof and the angle are great. You wouldn't be taking any pleasure in posting one of the ranter's least favorite topics would you? :-)

vollenda That's the reason I like macros too. It gives you a chance to expore.

These are fantastic! The red against the green in the first few is very beautiful. And the colors of the dogwood are lovely too.

MHJphotos Awesome Julie! (I like Eric's comment!)

What are those beautiful white flowers in #5-7? Those are gorgeous! And, thanks for the dogwood (our's is coming on nicely too!) the dogwood is one of my absolute favorite trees!

I'm soooooo excited that you're enjoying macro work, and how things slow way down when shooting macros. I feel the same way about night shooting! Perhaps you should expand your foray into some night shooting when you get your tripod. I think you'll really like it! And if not, just hold the shutter down for 10 pics in 1 second and it will feel like sports shootin'! =)

oldbabe Yes, stop and smell the flowers more often. My favorite subject. I like that dogwood! And is the white candytuft? Really, really small?

majikmonkee Beautiful all around, I really like #7 as well! I've ignored flowers as a photo subject for a long time, I'm glad I started taking pics of them as well lately, they definitely are easy on the eyes!

ncshutterbug Awesome, awesome job. I'm glad you're exploring macro, as you have a real talent for it. It does have a way of making you notice the small details, doesn't it?
