Having digested the valuable and constructive comments and remark and critique from many of you, I rethink and re-try and come up with this set of "Practising portrait II".........Thomas

Really like number five the most, but all are very good. Wish I could get my wife to pose for me. What's your secret?

I have liked these portraits more than the previous ones. The model, your pretty wife, is very much natural. Very nice environment. #1, #6, #8 and #11 the best for me, though all the very nice ones.

You pick a good model .She is beautiful and I like the style of the place where you took the pictures because it does not have to be perfect looking set ,so it gave an original ambiance !!..

The first series was really good, but just had to agree with most of the constructive comments made then. This set is much better. Yeah, critiques are hard to digest, but staying positive and using that push to keep going forward and not to fall, it can be powerful. And this post is a great example of that. You kept all that was said in mind. You used it to achieve your art your way, and the result is inspiring, my friend. Of all these, #1 & 5 are my favs. Great, great work.

It was better than Parctising I. This set showing the powerful of your equipments. For a fun portrait that you use a wide-angle lens. Great shots #1 and #7 . Waiting for your Practising III. Decide what to include for a portrait - how the model looks in relation to her surroundings, and the framing of the figure appears natural and comfortable.

Nice set.... I think 5 is my favorite, probably because on it's own I don't think it looks "set up" which is very hard to accomplish when taking portraits!

These are good. What lens were you using on #1? 5 & 7 are my favorites. Nice work and D300 rocks! :-)

A great set Thomas. Your wife makes a lovely and charming subject and these portraits are wonderfully framed and composed. They are all good but #1, #5 and #10 are absolutely outstanding! Youve got your D300 working beautifully!

Practise makes perfect ... :-) I'm not good in photo modelling, but I think for 4 & 5 you'll get a more dynamic composition by shifting the camera to the side, capturing the model in 1/3 of the frame. I like the lady's expression, looks relax, comfortable & natural.

I can tell you wich one i like, first #1 because of the nice angle and background, then #7, is very original perhaps it would even be better without the bushes on the right upper corner and ofcourse #5 is very good because i think the exposure is perfect but to bad the wall on the right is blocking the view a bit too much i think(is blocking the elbow) . And compliments to your wife for the modeling, a natural! The one i do not like is #2, for me its a picture of a house with a lady in front.. Have to say you are picking some difficult light situations and because of that there are some hotspots and overexposed bits but i wouldn't have done it any better.. Compliments to you!

I love #1. Perfect use of wide angle, feels like everything's coming towards you, but she is immovable. Nice poses and composition, though I kinda miss the contrast of colours in a few of them. Very successful nevertheless!

Superb set Thomas. Did you use a flashgun? The light seems a bit too harsh in some of them and is not evenly respected in some parts of the shots. Congratulations for those superb compositions.
