Peace Pagoda

Sign in the parking lot.

On the walk up the path to the pagoda, there are piles of rocks everywhere.

The top rock on this pile had a pattern on it that looked like Japanese writing.

The pile on the left is the one with the rock with the Asian-style markings mentioned above.

An active woodpecker hole in a pine tree. Note the ants stuck in the pitch. A zillion years from now, maybe they'll be amber?

A monument. There was no one around that could explain what the writing says.

The view from the front stairs of the pagoda.

The view as you wind the corner walking up the path.

As you circumnavigate the pagoda, there are four alcoves with statues.

This is all that remains of the original structure. It was burned by an arsonist. Ironically, the cement foundation behind it holds a zen garden.

Tadpoles sunning themselves on a ledge in the pond.

Today, I took a ride out the the Peace Pagoda in Leverett, Massachusetts. It was an absolutely beautiful day.
