Ocean City dek hockey tournament, day 1

2009.08.22
pixel
This is where the tourney is taking place. Ignore the girl who appears to have a headache.
pixel
In our first game of the tourney, we tied 1-1. I scored the only goal, a backhander that Larry passed to me right in front on a 2 on 1 break. The photo above was taken after our first game. Denny, Walker, MJ, and Ryan are watching the game after ours.

Corners of hockey rinks are not actually corners, more like rounded curves.

Anth, Chris, Rob, and Wayne.

Game 2 we won, 2-1. I scored our first goal on a nice pass from George, then he won it on a late penalty shot. Above, BJ removes his pads.

After the exciting hockey action, BJ cools down in the pool.

That kid gets some air.

I ate this entire pizza by myself. Pepperoni and Italian sausage from Trattoria Lombardi. Yum.
pixel
After gorging myself, I went to the beach to check out the monster waves.
pixel
The waves were huge because of Tropical Storm Danny, one of the dumbestly named weather conditions I have ever hearded.
pixel
It would be cool to stay there.
pixel
The people weren't allowed into the water, so they just lined up to look at it. Daring people got in up to their swimsuits.
pixel
Nice beach outfit, Ryan.
pixel
Huge, powerful waves.
pixel
Beach beauties.
pixel
These waves be trippin'!
pixel
All you lunatics, go ahead. Get sucked into the unforgiving ocean.
pixel
I'll stand here in the wet sand.

Beach-goers.
pixel
Hey, this is the same message I saw in the black sands of Perryville!
pixel
Ryan also notices the message in the sand.
pixel
See that spec in the very center of the picture? It's a dude swimming!
pixel
Here comes a lifeguard to check out the sitch.
pixel
After the old dude finally came ashore, he got yelled at by the lifeguard, who told him taking his own life into his hands wasn't his decision.
pixel
"That guy has a black hat, too!"
pixel
Hi. I'm Fred.
pixel
The water temporarily darkened his leg-coverings.
pixel
Check out that wave knocking the crap out of those dudes.
pixel
After our journey to the beach, Ryan and I returned to the house, 24 oz Miller Lites in hand, to go 3-0 in this game.
