#58/365: My favourite chocolate bar, Crispy Crunch, was originally manufactured by the Neilson company. The concept for the bar, chocolate with a crispy peanut flake centre, was originally developed back in the 1920's when an employee, Harold Oswin, submitted his idea for the chocolate bar as an entry for a contest being run by his company. Harold won the contest and received a $5.00 prize for his efforts (probably worth about $50-60 dollars today). The bar has had some subtle changes made to the original design and is now made by the Cadbury after they bought the rights to make all the Neilson chocolate brands back in 1996. The bar is only sold in Canada - for a brief time it was also distributed in the US but after the company owning the US distribution rights went bankrupt it was no longer available there.
