A typical Sinterklaas treat

This is 'A Banketletter': dough, filled with almondpaste, shaped in the letter M. It's very sweet and we get it at work every year for Sinterklaas.

The Bakery has a poem of Constantijn Huygens, a 16th century Dutch poet, on its paper.

snkysally Mmm, is it marzipan inside? A friend's brother came to visit from Holland and brought a mountain of marzipan with him - we couldn't stop snacking.
I want to try that Sinterklaas treat!!

cakemonkey Yum. Why is it shaped in an M?
cakemonkey · 2008-12-04: 12:47
Tulpje It's like marsepain... but more almonds. They are shaped in M or S normally.

Oweena I'm sure it's tasty and all that, and no offense Tulpje, but that looks like something my dog leaves for me in the yard.
Oweena · 2008-12-04: 14:43
Tulpje LOL! I don't fid it that tasty to be honest. It's way too sweet and after just a little bite I've had more than enough.
Tulpje · 2008-12-05: 03:20
Oweena OK, glad I didn't offend.
It might have been your most favorite treat and I was comparing it to...
