It's a stub Maharba! Actually, Auroville is surrounded and interspersed by forest / greeneries... so often old trees are cut just above the roots, and are left to grow again or compose! I recently took one mashmellow shot - thx to Patty who gave that name...which was btw a dead tree stub having fungus growing in it !
