Hey FBismark... these were taken in Japan. Specifically, Shimoda in the Izu Peninsula which is a fishing village about 3 hours out of Tokyo. The closest you can get in Singapore is a fabulous, though pricey, Japanese Restaurant called Nogawa in the Le Meridien. They have kaisekis there.... When were you in Singapore?

Oh am I ever hungry now! I've had what I think is some pretty good Japanese food in San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto, but when I look at your pictures, I'm forced to admit I ain't seen nothing yet. Maybe one day!

Heh,FBismark, I had lunch with a couple of senior Hitachi guys there... Fujita-san and Kobayashi-san. You know them? Julia... yep, SF I know has good Japanese food but nothing like Japanese food in a Japanese fishing village! You know, this photoblog is great for laptop travels... you learn a lot so my gratitude to all you guys.
