Nicotine and Caffeine

2008.04.25
In case you guys are wondering, that's caffeine in her left hand. Quite common in Singapore to "ta bao" or takeaway coffee in styrofoam cups (yes, yes, I know and I bring my own thermos mug).

I remember way back in university when I was a smoker (I've quit for many years now), I would roll my own ciggies, either Drum or Gauloises. I was quite bad with rolling my own cigarettes and as a result my cigarette would burn quite quickly as I would not have "packed in" the tobacco tightly enough and hence there would be too much air in between.

As a result, the cigarette went too quickly and the heat of the tobacco strained smoke would hit me too violently at the back of my throat.

Until I one day had a "great" idea.

I was also a major coffee addict back then so what I did was ground very finely some expresso beans and mixed it with the tobacco. Then I used this mixture to roll my ciggies.

The result? A well packed, incredibly smooth smoke.

I have no idea how bad that sort of thing is for the health. I can't imagine it to be too good. That was then.

This is just a little snippet from my past.

I am not encouraging anyone at all to do this. In fact, don't!
