Train Tracks Keep Comming

2008.07.06
It's a nice cold sunny day and we are waiting for the train. None in sight so far.

Even zooming down the tracks, still no train in sight, just tracks.

To the left side there is some building falling apart, sitting, rotting away slowly. Being metal it's going to be rotting away for awhile.

Even when you trun around waiting for those trains still no trains around, just train tracks.

Well we start looking at these train tracks, I don't think the in use any more look at them. Warn, used and yep they are falling apart.

I guess it's not a good sign when you see gravel piled up on the tracks. No train today, just train tracks.

So I left the tracks and looked around, and this is all what I found.

Hmm guess someone needed to say they exist.

Need a drink of water?

Hmm still no train, just train tracks, however another site to go visit here.

Eoin still waiting for the train to come by. Kinda sneaky in the tall grass over there just sitting and waiting.

Not that big of a river, yet there is a river near by, it even goes uner the train tracks.

Eoin doing the side step waiting for the train. Hmm did he give up waiting for it?

Ruins, hmm welcome to America lets just abandon it all , leave it there so no one can use the land, and it can just be a hazzard to all who live there. One great thing about America. Throw away you can build another cheaper then fixing it up, just buy it new. I wonder where we are going as a country. I'm sure the world will start yelling one day when they realize that we are throwing our garbage all over the world even third world countries where they don't even know what plastic is, yet are knee deep in it. That or realize it's under their kids play ground. I say this yet we are not the only country doing this. Yours may be too.

Well here's the train tracks up close and personal. They don't look too bad.

This could be a great movie shot.

Hmm I still wonder what happened or why they just threw everything to the side and walked away. Leaving an eye sore. I'm sure the local neighbors are thankful they did that. Yeah right like they want their kids to get hurt all because of someone else's carelessness. Oh well this is America, Only a very few seem to care, everyone else. Well they just close their eyes and don't look.

I do love train tracks. It's like they have their own story to tell.

This is right by the train tracks. I believe it use to be something that would load gravel or something into those big bins they have. It's obviously not used any longer.

Eoin's still waiting for that train.

I must admit he is determined to see that train.

I was hoping to catch this in action, and I did. I caught it in it's up position. :)

We gave up on the train and found this old antique fire engine near by. We had to stop and take a few pictures of it. Sorry about the order of this, it didn't load onto the site correctly, not sure why.

This kinda gives the indication that no one lives around here, and that it's closed. However it's not, it is open. Just don't ask to use the bathroom.

Note the train tracks in front, sorry this is out of order, yet it's by the train tracks. Let's Keep America Safe. Yeah right safe from who? I can't believe this was actually allowed to just wrot and stay just like this. Come on kids come and play. To me is an accident waiting to happen, or a beautiful space for a flea market if someone would come in and fix it up.

Realizing I'm sounding negative and I'm not, Just ired I guess of what we all have to live with daily. So did you notice this picture yet. Yep it's side ways. Had to throw that curve ball in there and see if you noticed. :) Come on it's life have fun, laugh a little.

Amazing how in tack this fire truck is. I can only guess it's here because someone is going to restore it. So I hope. It looks great, definately used, but looks great.

Wow the dog is still standing.

Asheville, NC. This was our trip on 2-11-08. Thought we would go out to some old ruins and see about taking some pictures of the trains that go by. hmmm and we are waiting.
