The West End cont'd....

2008.03.24
It was just a flying visit, but there....

was pleanty to look out for.

Here they come.

The Tibetans were in town.....

an not un-naturally, they weren't happy.

Gathered in Trafalgar Square

they were just in time

for a little reminder of the Himalayas.

It put a damper on things

and pretty soon

everyone was wandering away.

For someone my age, there was a touch of

Deja Vu about the crowd.

If they had only waited 10 minutes.

but distraction had set in

and there were places to be, and parties to arrange.

The Chinese response was par for the course.

Trafalgar Square returned to normal

and so did the weather.

I strolled back through 'arty' St James

admired the hair raising prices of shirts in Jermyn Street

The Tat of Regents Street

the studied style of Carnaby street

and some of Soho's seedier parts

then popped in to see the Emperor.

There were people

lookng for

him everywhere.

I did find an army,. but it was much smaller than expected, and seemed to have been crafted by the wrong end of a horse.

Prehaps Harry Potter had something to do with it!!!
