The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station is a much discussed, debated issue between Singapore and Malaysia since Singapore's independence from Malaysia. As this railway station, the railway and its land is Malaysia owned and the railway station is located in the heart of Singapore's CBD which is the south tip of the island. (Read more about it here)

A breakthrough agreement between both governments happened on the 24 May 2010. The Malaysia government agree to move its railway operations to the border of Singapore. The Tanjong Pagar railway station, together with the land it sits on will be exchanged for parcels of land in other areas in Singapore.

The railway operations in Tanjong Pagar Railway station will ceased in July 2011 and the tenants will be moving out in May 2011. Many photographers, after learning of this news started pouring in to take memory shots of this historic place. Here are some of mine to share.

#1 The Red Brakes
This red spring-like rod serves as a braking mechanism in case the arriving train cannot stop in time.

#2 Food canteen at the arrival platform
All these are gone today. As all tenants have to move out by May 2011.

#3 Railway Food Station
This too will be relocated by today. I like the framing of the entrance.
