Once upon a time in Fryslan (the very north of the Netherlands)
There was a boy...
And a girl... They decided to go on a 'romantic' sailing trip on the girl's birthday
One moment the girl questioned herself; 'Why do people sell cats in food shops in Fryslan? Are these typical Frysian cats perhaps? Or maybe there's a cat included if you buy a huge can of Heineken beer?'
While the next moment (back in the boat) the boy questioned himself (as a former sailing instructor), 'How do we need to react when a storm suddenly comes in our way?'
'Well we need to find a 'save' spot in the lake and fixate the boat by throwing out the anchor at least'
'And shelter in the cabin while the storm passes through'
'Speeking of which' he said to the girl. 'Get into the cabin and put your life vest on a-d-m-i-d-d-i-a-t-l-y.'
In the meantime it was raining Frysian cats and dogs. And the wind grew stronger than you can image. Lightning and thunder striking everywhere.
The wind blew from different directions, making the boat float in circels. 'Would the anchor be strong enough to hold the boat and not make it float and drift it away. While crushing into other boats?, the boy and girl questioned themselves. 'Will we see those Frysian cats again - ever?'
About an hour later the storm dissapeared (for a while) and the boy and girl decided that it was saver to locate the boat at an harbor, in stead of In The Middle Of Nowhere Somewhere In Fryslan.
So they moved on further...(and passed by through these beautiful Dutch sceneries)
Sail and sail and sail on...Untill they found something that looked like a harbor. They weren't quite sure, frankly. But there wasn't much time to think about.
The next storm was about ready to break loose
'Holy moly, look at the sky', the girl said
The sky turned into dark grey in just several minutes. While the stormy evening turned into a stormy night in several hours.
The next early morning a gentle sunshine woke them up in return
'Good morning Dutch Sceneries!', the girl yelled
For a split second she almost wanted to do the imitation of a Titanic scene (remember Leonardo diCaprio standing in front of the boat while yelling 'I'M THE KING OF WORLD WOOHOEEEE!!') Or perhaps that other scene with Kate Winslet included, to make this adventurous trip look more romantic? 'Maybe next time', she doubted ;-)
And so this is how this Water Adventure Story ends. Happily ever after. Cheers.

:-) Maybe it's because I'm married to a true sailor man? :-) Or may it's just because I'm more surrounded by water than by rock and mountains? But as a matter of fact, I'm at the moment in the middle of planning the next trip (most likely to visit rocks and mountains again..)
