Te Anau & Milford Sound
Yesterday Andrea, Lara, and I took a day trip down to Te Anau and Milford Sound; it was beyond stunning! The bus ride was a tad too long but the weather was gorgeous and I really enjoyed all the stops along the way. Once we got to Milford Sound we took a 2-hour long cruise around the sound—absolutely gorgeous. Again, probably should Google it for yourself because the pictures certainly do not do it justice. We met 3 guys who had just graduated from Madison and had been traveling around for a few months. Their trip sounded SO awesome—definitely would not mind doing that once I graduate. We hung out with them for the remainder of the trip and ended up going out to a few bars with them that night. I think we all really enjoyed hanging out with other Americans.
This morning we met up with the Sconnie guys again for breakfast before both taking off to our separate ways. We left for the airport to catch our flight back to Christchurch; I was so excited to stay with Annie, Pauline, and Rachel again! Once we had arrived Rachel took us to dinner at Annie’s house and oh my goodness the Mexican she made was SO GOOD. It was wonderful to finally have a real meal again. Afterwards we got to all sit around again (all the flat mates and us girls) and catch up on everything that had happened over the last two weeks. We also enjoyed some Tim Tams (NZ’s version of Oreos) and cookie dough to celebrate Valentine’s Day ☺
